A NEW CONSEQUENCE OF LEADER-MEMBER-EXCHANGE: IMPRESSION MANAGEMENT TACTICS

When members of the in-group and out-group formed by leader are aware this categorization, employees’ motivation, attitudes towards job or organization, performance can be affected being a member (leader-member exchange, LMX). One consequences categorization awareness is impression management tactics displayed an employee. Impression goaldirected process in which individuals try to influence perceptions other people about person, object event. The purpose study investigate effect outgroup for employee on tactic. A cross-sectional survey utilized research. 427 employees selected from 13 different organizations. reliability scales diagnosed via internal coefficient. validity construct (factor analysis). proposed relationships tested using structural equation modeling (SEM). According research findings, ingratiation self-promotion, one dimension management, leader-memberexchange. Contribution LMX influences utilizing tactic negatively, as expected. Contrary expectations, terms affect professional respect arising positively.
